![]() ![]() Her final lip sync against Kandy Muse was a fireworks display of her personality (and her hair). ![]() Symone and Gottmik faced off in a preliminary lip sync to Britney Spears’ “Gimme More,” with Symone in a custom, monogrammed tracksuit that peeled down to mustard-colored skivvies and a structured wig that she removed halfway through to reveal yet another wig, even as Gottmik was unveiling mid-stage wardrobe notifications in tandem. VH1 Symone checking a message from Rihanna, NBD Unlike past episodes, which involved challenges, confessionals and eliminations, the 13th season’s finale was a full-fledged ceremony, with a remote audience offsite at a “drag race drive in,” introduced in intermittent segments by host Jaida Essence Hall, who was the reigning “Drag Race” Season 12 winner. In the red challenge, she strutted decked out in a tiny little dress made of red acrylic fingernails, blonde pigtails swinging, then donned custom warrior armor in gold leaf against billowy white goddess garb. That's the mark that I want to leave behind.Symone stunned in the black and white runway challenge, with a yards-wide regal dress and hair to the heavens. It originated in the United States in 2009, where it was devised as a replacement for Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World (20072009), and has been adapted in various countries. You can build through it and dictate what's for you. Drag Race is a television drag queen competition franchise created by American drag icon RuPaul, and the production company World of Wonder. You don't have to let any of the negativity of the world or things around you dictate how your life is going to be. You can have anything you want, you just have to work for it and you can. My hope is for people to see that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. This was what I’d been dreaming of since I was a teenager so there couldn’t be half steppin’. That’s what I call it, “a moment of peace.” Because if I don't, I suffer and then nothing's as great as I know it can be. So I have to give myself a moment of peace. I really prioritize that because I noticed that as much as I do like working, if I allow myself to go too far in that without pausing I spiral and the art won't be as good. I'll make sure there's always time to just have a second for me. When it comes to my own needs, I just have to have a moment to myself. I can remember the kid I was, watching the show and looking at people that I look up to and thinking, “I could never do that, I want it but I don't know if I can do it.” I've gone on to do a lot more than I even thought I would in half the time I expected. I'm proud of where I am and all of the growth I’ve seen within myself. The two things I really wanted and achieved were the Met gala and walking the Fenty Savage show. I'm just proud of myself going through this whole journey. And I thought, “oh my God, it's been less than a year.” I've already done so much. ![]() Someone recently asked how long it’s been since the crowning. The self-proclaimed “Ebony Enchantress” has not only captured hearts with brilliant messages of social justice, but also with exquisite taste in fashion from her own intentional POV. Her all white gown embellished with the words “Say Their Names” in red, a powerful statement on police brutality, will always be remembered in Drag Race history.
